1:1 Tutoring

How are your 1:1 tutors selected?

All of our 1:1 tutors are physicians who have scored in the top percentiles on their USMLE exams (240+ for Step 1 and 260+ for Step 2 CK). Our rigorous selection process includes:

  • Verification of USMLE scores and medical credentials
  • Teaching experience assessment
  • Multiple rounds of interviews to evaluate communication skills
  • Training in our teaching methodology and resources
  • Regular performance evaluations based on student feedback

Less than 5% of applicants are selected to join our tutoring team, ensuring you work with only the most qualified educators.

How are 1:1 tutoring sessions conducted?

Our 1:1 tutoring sessions are conducted via our secure video conferencing platform. Each session is 60 minutes long and includes:

  • Personalized instruction focusing on your specific needs
  • Interactive whiteboard for concept explanation
  • Review of challenging questions from our question bank
  • Custom study plan development and adjustment
  • Post-session summary and study recommendations

All sessions are recorded and available for you to review afterward. Our platform also allows for screen sharing, document collaboration, and real-time note-taking.

Can I change my tutor if we're not a good match?

Absolutely. We want to ensure you have the best possible learning experience. If you feel your current tutor isn't the right fit, you can request a change through your student dashboard or by contacting our student support team. We'll arrange for you to work with a different tutor who may better suit your learning style and needs. Your remaining prepaid sessions will transfer to the new tutor without any penalty or additional fees.

Group Tutoring

What is the maximum size of your group tutoring sessions?

Our group tutoring sessions are kept intentionally small to ensure each student receives adequate attention and has the opportunity to participate. The maximum group size is 6 students per session. This limited enrollment allows for collaborative learning while still providing personalized attention from the tutor. Groups are typically formed based on similar exam timelines and subject focus areas to maximize the relevance for all participants.

How are group tutoring sessions structured?

Each group tutoring session runs for 90 minutes and follows a structured format:

  • 15 minutes: Review of key concepts from previous session and addressing questions
  • 30 minutes: Tutor-led instruction on new high-yield topics
  • 30 minutes: Collaborative problem-solving with practice questions
  • 15 minutes: Q&A, study strategy discussion, and assignment of practice materials

Sessions are interactive, and participants are encouraged to ask questions throughout. All materials, including practice questions and concept reviews, are made available to participants after each session.

Is there a discount for signing up for multiple group sessions?

Yes, we offer package discounts for our group tutoring sessions:

  • 5-session package: 10% discount
  • 10-session package: 15% discount
  • 20-session package: 20% discount

These packages can be used for different subject areas and don't expire for 12 months from the date of purchase. Additionally, if you decide to upgrade to our 1:1 tutoring after trying group sessions, we offer a credit of 50% of your group tutoring purchases toward your 1:1 package.

100 Days Marathon

What is the 100 Days Marathon program and how is it structured?

The 100 Days Marathon is our intensive, structured study program designed to prepare you for your USMLE exam in just over three months. The program follows a carefully planned curriculum:

  • Days 1-70: Systematic content review broken down by organ systems
  • Days 71-85: Integrated review focusing on high-yield connections
  • Days 86-95: Dedicated practice with full-length practice exams
  • Days 96-100: Final review and exam strategy preparation

Each day includes 8-10 hours of structured study time with specific assignments, video lessons, practice questions, and scheduled breaks. Weekly assessments track your progress and identify areas needing additional focus.

What support is provided during the 100 Days Marathon?

Throughout the 100 Days Marathon, you'll receive comprehensive support including:

  • Weekly one-hour 1:1 coaching sessions with a dedicated academic advisor
  • Twice-weekly group Q&A sessions with subject experts
  • Daily check-ins and progress tracking
  • Access to our emergency tutoring hours for difficult concepts
  • Performance analytics with customized study plan adjustments
  • Mental health and wellness resources for stress management
  • 24/7 student support via our online portal

Our goal is to provide both academic guidance and motivational support to keep you on track throughout this intensive study period.

What happens if I fall behind in the 100 Days Marathon schedule?

We understand that unexpected challenges can arise during your preparation. If you fall behind schedule:

  1. Your academic advisor will schedule an immediate strategy session to assess the situation
  2. We'll adjust your study plan to focus on the highest-yield topics
  3. Additional support sessions will be arranged at no extra cost
  4. If necessary, we can extend your program access by up to 14 days

Our program is designed to be challenging but achievable. Many students report that the structured approach helps them stay motivated and on track, but we're committed to being flexible when life circumstances require adjustments.

Step 2 CK Program

How is your Step 2 CK Program different from Step 1 preparation?

Our Step 2 CK Program is specifically designed to address the clinical focus of the exam, with key differences including:

  • Case-based learning approach rather than basic science foundations
  • Emphasis on clinical decision-making and patient management
  • Focus on diagnosis, next steps, and treatment prioritization
  • Integration of evidence-based medicine principles
  • Systems-based practice and patient safety concepts
  • Statistics and research methodology application

Our tutors for the Step 2 CK Program are all clinically experienced physicians who excel at teaching the reasoning skills needed for success on this exam.

How long is the Step 2 CK Program?

Our standard Step 2 CK Program is designed to be completed in 6-8 weeks of dedicated study time. However, we recognize that each student's timeline may vary based on clinical rotations, other commitments, and baseline knowledge. We offer three versions of the program:

  • Express Track: 4-5 weeks (for students with strong clinical knowledge seeking focused review)
  • Standard Track: 6-8 weeks (our most popular option)
  • Extended Track: 10-12 weeks (for students balancing preparation with other responsibilities)

All versions cover the same content, but differ in pace and intensity. During your initial consultation, we'll help determine which track best fits your needs.

Do you offer specific preparation for the new patient note component of Step 2 CK?

Yes, our Step 2 CK Program includes dedicated training for the patient note component. We provide:

  • Structured templates for efficient patient note completion
  • Video tutorials on note organization and time management
  • Practice cases with detailed feedback from experienced clinicians
  • Timed simulations to build speed and accuracy
  • Common pitfalls to avoid in note writing

Our approach focuses on developing a systematic method for approaching patient notes that helps you maximize points while managing the time constraints of the exam. Students receive personalized feedback on at least 20 practice notes throughout the program.
